What the LFT test measures
A Liver Function Test groups several measurements — liver enzymes such as SGOT (AST) and SGPT (ALT), alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin and proteins — into one report. Patterns across them help a doctor tell whether the liver is inflamed, under strain or not clearing bile normally.
Also known as: Liver Function Test, Liver profile, Liver test.
